Costa, thanks for the information that you posted.

I am still of the opinion that Novell needs to be sold to a company that has much better management at all levels. Novell management, time and again, has bungled opportunity after opportunity. Failure is an endemic and accepted part of its corporate consciousness.

Novell lost ALL credibility with the independent software development community a long time ago. Software companies have invested small fortunes in AppWare, for instance, only to see Novell abandon the technology later.

Also, since Novell cannot communicate its vision for the future, one must assume that it does not have one.

The possible takeover candidate list is pretty slim. My personal choice would be IBM. But they already have a plan for the connected and networked future, based on Notes and Tivoli, and they really do not need Novell. One thing is for certain. The longer Novell waits to find a partner, the less the premium will be.
