I'm not impressed.

Nokia/Microsoft = a phone hardware company that had it all and failed to capitalize on it with a OS strategy combined with a company that had it all but has little experience with hardware and integration. Two companies pulling different directions with at least one terrible CEO. Microsoft has business, their one advantage.

Apple = Computer hardware experience, tons of software experience with the best OS out there, tons of small device experience with a great new OS, tons of software experience, and a decent cloud strategy, great management.

Android = cloud, software, phone - no real computer strategy, hundreds of losers pinning their hopes on an disinterested head of state.

HP = = Computer hardware experience, tons of software experience with microsoft and UNIX, tons of device experience with a great new OS, tons of software experience, lots of business connections and experience, one of Apple's greatest designer managers.

I'd say Apple and HP are leagues ahead. Apple has the jump but HP is transformed and might get serious.

HP though has to do Apple at less profit than Apple, a natural disadvantage. Even it their products are better they have to beat Apple's prices. A tough road to hoe.
