Dick, I have WMP V11 and have [rarely] played movie DVDs in the past. NOW, however, the movie DVDs are not recognized. The CD/DVD drive is ok and works for sound and data files.

MS-approved plug-ins for WMP are available windows.microsoft.com

One CODEC is reported defective, but I don't know whether it is involved. It's the LEAD mcmp mjpeg codec [vfw] and many others report that malfunction.

I may try one of the plug-ins. Most don't have a free trial, though.
