obungle now promises more money to egypt, money we don't have... I believe it is all tied in to benefitting large corporations, GZ. That's why society has failed; the disconnect between the agendas of large corporations and the values that you, I, and most of the other thread participants hold. The corporations literally own the members of Congress, who vote by proxy, as directed. So, if a corporate behemoth wants to hold considerable influence in a foreign country, I believe they direct the Congress to approve large sums of "foreign aid" to their "leaders", who are almost always despots and tyrants. I have never bought into their "humanitarian reasons" or statements that "the U.S. government seeks peace and stability in the region."
