BREAKING..Motorola Atrix 4G now available for pre-order for $199 from AT&T
Motorola’s Atrix 4G Android superphone is now available for preorder from AT&T

Well look what just popped up on AT&T’s site. Yup, you can now officially preorder the Motorola Atrix 4G from AT&T for a cool $200, with contract, plus a $36 one-time activation fee. The phone is scheduled to launch on March 6th, so preorder customers will still have over three weeks of waiting before they can get their hands on the device.

AT&T is offering calling plans that range from $40 per month for 450 minutes to $70 a month for unlimited minutes. Data plans start at $15 a month for 200MB of data, $25 a month for 2G of data, or $45 per month for 4GB of data plus tethering and mobile hotspot functionality.

Also available for preorder are accessories for the Atrix, including the device’s $300 laptop dock (which requires an absurd $100 rebate), a $190 Entertainment Center dock, a $130 HD Multimedia Dock, or a $50 Standard Dock. Cases for the device from Otterbox, Speck, Body Glove and Incipio are also available.

We were quite impressed at the Atrix when the device made its debut at CES 2011. However, since then we’ve been disappointed by Motorola’s pricing for the Atrix’s various docks. The Atrix Laptop Dock, for example, is a key differentiator for the device, yet it costs $300 – that’s more than a netbook. Even the Home Entertainment Center costs nearly $200 – for that price you’d be better off picking up an Apple TV, Roku XD, or even a Internet-connected Blu-Ray player.

Still, even with those caveats, we have to admit the Atrix 4G is pretty hard to resist.
