Apple will probably shoot themselves in the foot with a lower margin cheaper phone by canibilizing their own high end. Who would buy a $600 iPhone when you can get a $200 one. Plus I think there are more questions than answers at the moment, like screen, resolution, iOS app compatibility, how much of the web can you see on a tiny screen, font size, etc... the reason why I like that you can get a 4" screen (or 4.3") on Androids is that my eyes are already getting worse at reading small type on a tiny screen. And that is the case for most people as they get older. More questions than answers really... cause the beauty of the sub $100 Android phones is that you still get the full Android experience and a good size screen. If a $200 iPhone does away with the iPhone experience by shrinking the screen to the point of being made incompatible with current iOS apps, or it becomes so small as to be difficult to read or require too much scrolling around, then that would be more of a feature phone than a smartphone. And people who wanted an iPhone end up buying instead the cheaper phone rather than the more expensive one, it would be Apple will end up being the big loser in the end. JMO...
