I've read that the uber rich frequently have a surprisingly low affective tax rate (not marginal tax rate). And also you don't hear any of them clamoring for one of the several flat tax scenarios bandied about. My guess is that the class that would benefit most would be upper middle-class salaried people and professionals such as doctors and lawyers, not the uber rich or even many of the successful sole proprietorships.
Self-employed business owners have lots of ways to shield or underreport income thus bringing down their affective tax rate.
