Certainly this announcement is a little underwhelming in a few ways. No major OEM, shipping not expected until second half of 1998. I'm hoping that's a conservative time frame. BTW, Rocky, that would mean that the drive would ship 1 1/2 years after it was first announced. About what SyQuest did with SyJet. Not two years late. I don't know where you get that.

Nonetheless, besides a much-needed name change, there are some interesting improvements in technical specifications for Clik!.

I'm including the specs below. One thing I noticed is that previously, n.hand drive height was given as .45 something", or almost half an inch. Clik! is specified at around a quarter inch.

Not to mention that a 40MB capacity means a cost factor of 25 cents a megabyte. Flash will get cheaper, but it sure as hell won't be that cheap anytime soon.
