If you had to invent a tax system that MAXIMIZED compliance costs, you couldn't come up with better than we have. Indeed. I will say though that alot of the business software is wonderful now for that. And the software for tracking gains and losses in the stock market. One of my pet peeves with our whole tax situation is simply that it affects long term planning so much. Many tax changes can near blow up a long range strategy. It's just constantly changing, being tinkered with. Even if these changes don't directly affect one's business, they force one to pay their accountant to figure it out.....compliance costs, as you say.
