In India, there is very little (almost ignore level) government provided health care.

Take private insurance, and then the usual caveats of "pre-existing conditions" kicks in.

Personally - I do not have any health insurance for my mother - any ailment she has/could have (at age 78) would fall under "pre-existing conditions". I'll just pay the bills when needed.
