No, John personal servitude is not a good thing, however should you think my ideas on the subject might be liberal, I actually prefer the idea of work farms, poor farms whatever one might call them. They could have shared duties for sustenance and possibly earn some cash money in some type of industry. No booze etc etc. Violence would be dealt with by transfer to the courts and the county jails. Childcare would be a shared responsibility while adults are doing chores. Dormitories would be the primary living areas and small private cottages for those readying to return to the outside world where people take a serious approach to raising children and providing for their needs.

Similar service communities could be created for the infirm, with the possibility of the workers from the poor farm/work farm commuting to the infirm community to [perform duties.

etc etc ... If there was a social stigma attached to being placed at such a community you can do 2 things.

1. Ask them if the stigma worse than being hungry?

2. Make a law stating there is no stigma attached to
these farms. (Dems would love to do that)

For the less-skilled welfare recipients, they should be deployed daily to the neighborhoods of taxpayers to mow the lawns,
