Sybase, a SAP (News - Alert) company and a provider of enterprise and mobile software, announced it has expanded partnership with Samsung to offer Sybase (News - Alert) Afaria Advanced Enterprise Security (AES) for Android.

The Sybase Afaria is designed to offer security and application management for Samsung's (News - Alert) Galaxy S and Galaxy S II devices. Sybase Afaria is powerful and flexible mobile device management and security solution for the enterprise.

“As more employees are empowered with mobile access to enterprise systems, applications and data through their device of choice, the requirement for IT to support the widening array of device types can be extremely complex and unwieldy,” said Willie Jow, vice president Enterprise Mobility, Sybase.

With the Sybase solution, Samsung Galaxy S and Galaxy S II can set a new security standard within the Android (News - Alert) ecosystem. Sybase and Samsung will be in a position to transform organizations through mobility solutions with better productivity and more security without the complexity on Android devices.

“The partnership with Sybase enables our enterprise customers to confidently embrace Samsung Android devices,” said Jongshin Kim, vice president of Enterprise Solution Group, Samsung Electronics, in a statement.

“With the widespread adoption of both personally owned and corporate-owned Samsung devices, our enterprise customers can now enjoy the benefits of Samsung's compelling Galaxy S devices in the most secure and consistent manner,” Kim added.

Enterprises are looking for maintaining a secure corporate environment. Products with device support like Sybase Afaria significantly advance the off-the-shelf device capabilities of Android, iPhone, iPad, etc.

The Sybase solutions offer protection and manageability enhancements that safeguard corporate assets and reduce total cost of ownership, according to company officials.

Advanced Enterprise Security from Sybase provides enterprise IT with the most comprehensive device management capabilities on Samsung Android devices.

Recently Sybase also announced the availability of its comprehensive suite of IPX (IP eXchange) services for RIM's BlackBerry (News - Alert) Infrastructure. Sybase 365 provides connectivity between RIM's BlackBerry Infrastructure and mobile operators around the world using the secure private Sybase IPX 365 network.
