Technology Samsung Electronics Plant Workers Commit Suicide, South Korean Police Say By Jun Yang - Jan 13, 2011 3:38 AM MT Two Samsung Electronics Co. factory workers committed suicide this month, South Korean police said. The workers jumped off company dormitories on Jan. 3 and Jan. 11, Chae Hong Cheol, a spokesman for Chungnam Provincial Police Agency said in a telephone interview today. They worked at Samsung’s liquid-crystal-display factories in the province, he said. Samsung regrets the incidents, Nam Ki Yung, a spokesman for the Suwon, South Korea-based company said. The company will consider expanding regular health checkups and psychiatric consulting for employees, Samsung said on its official blog. Samsung is the world’s largest maker of LCDs.
