The fact that we do pay many many times that rate belies the idea that we have a government of, by and for the people. Absolutely. And the operative words here is, "paper trail". At least for the time being, that drives the laws that keep us "honest". WRT the future? As KLP said, "big brother" gets closer and closer, every day.
