Noel,
looking back on what was happening in the market during the last few days:
1) usrx stock is going up
2) boci stock is not up
3) adsl is deployed way ahead of schedule (see Tango's posts)
4) good old rockwell is not participating in adsl with all it's resources
5) gte has posted success in adsl trials (Aug 14) before even phase 2 begins
6) rumors of awarding rfp money to some westell and others
7) gte anounced that both westell and amati are in phase one and I beleive only amati in phase 2

My wild speculations:
1) the race is on.
2) Modems will hurt adsl for general public in a short run which is bad for both cap and dmt
3) telcos showed their commitment to adsl -- I do not understand why yet
4) adsl will be implemented for business use only for now and that pushes dmt ahead of cap

summary -- if the modem will work and it will be reasonably priced I will buy it so will most of the internet users. Adsl modem prices need to go down. We need to hear some good news from MOT, ADI, NEC camp

Regards
-Albert

ps I am still long on amtx
