BuyS, "I think we are nearing a low, and want to cover all of the bases before I buy." It is a strong buy now. That doesn't mean that it won't/can't go lower. Nonetheless, when this still relative mild bit of insanity blows over, whoever sold in here will be scratching their heads and asking, "Why did I do that, anyway?"
Impossible to "cover all of the bases" before buying. Certainly, the Korean and Japanese companies could make life miserable for the US drive companies. But these companies aren't like the US chip companies of old, or like the US manufacturers of TVs and VCRs. They have been through wars before, and have more resources--both business and legal recourses--to fight back. This is a game of chicken so far. But even if, as some have suggested on this thread in that past, QNTM literally gave away the drive business for only the assumption of the debt and a token couple of million dollars--unlikely--the stock would be worth much more than it is today. |
