C2 Just as many would not: <fed funds rate goes to 5%

Many will be selling pencils in a tin cup if that should happen anytime soon.

I am reduced to selling pencils [sold the tin cup for recycling value] because my $millions of US$ cash profits from trading SKF up and down earn 0% at the bank. One pleasure of 0% is that the tax department is short-changed too.

When I enquired of a different bank to see if they would offer me at least something, they said sorry, we are at 0% too. I asked for perhaps just a cup of coffee for each $1million transferred. He laughed. So $1 million is not worth even 1 cup of coffee. I didn't dare ask for a Happy Meal.

Would you like to buy some pencils from me? I'm offering them really cheap coz I'm hungry. I want to save the $millions for my old age.

At 5% I could buy Happy Meals and all the coffee I could drink. I would even buy a tin cup for those people who you say would be selling pencils instead of me.

5%, or 8% even, bring it on.
