A 30% cut still provides the publishers with more subscription than they currently get from operations with mailed subscriptions. Why do you think Google has offered 10% when they take a 30% cut from other things like App sales? Could it be a marketing and PR ploy?

It's been reported that what the publishers really don't like is Apple's opt in policy for the publisher to receive the customer's personal information. This opt in policy is the same policy being promoted by consumer advocates groups and some governmental agencies. Google s happy to give the less desirable opt out program to the publishers. In fact you can bet they'll be lobbying heavily against a mandatory opt in policy. Google will be brought kicking and screaming to any personal privacy rights policy.

The publishers can't wait to get that valuable iTunes information and are angry that Apple won,t give them a rich vein of desirable consumer information to sell ads with, greater consumer information than they ever bad. To f...ing bad. Keep protecting my information Apple, I already give enough spam and junk mail.

Maybe this article I posted earlier will add to your perspective, granted some things may not be accurate like Android claims of increased Apps, but the gist I believe us. and you can see that Amazon is certainly no angels.
