From Yahoo:

The following was from the Avondale analyst last month on the subject of US broadband stimulus spending, as well as the 100G product that uses Infinera’s new 500 Gigabit per second (500G) photonic integrated circuits (PICs) which each integrate five 100G channels.:

Stimulus related activity remains a key interest as several INFN customers have been awarded round one funds for "middle-mile" projects. We believe spending associated with NTIA projects accelerated meaningfully during the quarter to a monthly run rate of ~$16M exiting 2010, roughly triple the ~$5M run rate exiting 3Q. We estimate the market for transport equipment in the U.S. is facing a $500M swell through 2013, as a result of stimulus. We think INFN may be able to glean a meaningful share, which is not currently reflected in our estimates.

Regarding product development, with key customer demonstrations completed using Infinera's 500G PIC, we will look for updates on plans for commercial availability, which is currently scheduled for 2012."
