I learned a lot about ESD when my brother worked at Nortel assembling circuit boards. He had to wear ESD shoes, stand on ESD mats, grounded when working to prevent ESD.

Maybe that is why Nortel is bankrupt - they spent too much time on ESD and not on growing the business.

But seriously - never thought of that. Been using a regular vacuum for 29 years and never had an issue [said another way - vacuum - computer works after]. But I may look into that. How much are we talking? I mean cripes, if I was a WorstBuy Geek on the road going to customers it is one thing. But my gut says these "portable" ones have to be in the $200+ range seeing as a regular vacuum is around that.

So you are never cleaning yours then? To me there is more harm in having a desktop / mid-tower full of dust and having the fans less efficient.
