But even though Mobclix concluded that the average iPhone user has a higher value than the average Android user, the value shifts if we compare different categories.

Quite obviously, the iPhone is skewed heavily on the high end customer (60% of the +$300 market, 80% of the +$450 market). Given that Android outsells the iPhone 2 to 1, the collective android demographic is significantly downmarket. No surprise that they would be less likely to purchase applications, click through to ads, etc.
