warm climate next to ocean with full complement of household staff (i.e. housekeeper, cook, cleaning maid, gardener, and driver) is some other arena
very economical on clothing, just 5 sets of lycra something and cotton something else, and at the end of each day, chuck all sets into shower, and then air dry overnight so as to be ready for the next day
also appreciate inclination to nap and rise, sleep, and play, 24/7 without regard to what is happening where how and when
biggest decisions each day are "two or three soft boiled eggs?" and "3 or 4 minutes?"

at not exactly ripe age of 52, but certainly feeling biased towards easy living, i reckon that one could rent out hk home and engage with koh samui in custom one can easily grow comfortable with, and save 1/2 of revenue every month
had it been not for the kids' education and such considerations, me gone. wife wants no part of it, for she is city sort. very unfortunate.
