Addi, I don't short because if I am wrong I lose real money. If I wait to buy and buy at what I like, I make lots of money or I average down from that point. If I am wrong, I just find another stock to go after. It is a favorite statement of people that don't like the prediction of a low value in a particular stock to tell the person to short it, but that is reckless and doesn't fit my investment style. I also don't trade for just day only timeframes. I trade of a short period of time based on what I want from the pick and what I think the market will give after taking a position and following the bet.

I almost always have to average down once I take a position since I never get exactly the perfect bottom. I usually am close enough. If the stock does something I never expected, I sell at a loss. I have taken some losses in the process. It is how it all factors out that counts.
