I agree that public sector unions present special problems. No profit to be made, must be judged on performance and comparisons with similar private sector endeavors for salaries and benefits. But not insoluble ones. Still no reason to forbid collective bargaining, with those things in mind.

I can only speak for the public employees I've dealt with in my life, but the vast majority seemed to be working hard to deliver needed services.
