Ali, Well yes. Everyone knows that companies guide analysts in their estimates. But saying they may earn between 20 cents and 30 cents is not an earnings estimate. An analyst would get laughed off of Wall Street for making an estimate that broad. Indeed, it is so wide a range, it is not an estimate at all, but general guidance. So, no, you are wrong, that does not qualify as an estimate at all.

And yes, after a major news event, virtually all revisions ARE made within twenty four hours, barring some unusual circumstance. That is just the way it is, as anyone who follows analysts' estimates knows. There is really nothing to argue about here.
