Thanks for the feedback. Since win 7 is running on a 5 yr old laptop which also happens to be my only computer for now I will leave things alone until I get a new desktop.

The old one died a while back and I have been looking to get a replacement with usb3 ports. In the past I have had bad experiences with Dell and will never buy another computer from them. I have been looking at HP but find that the power supply for some of their models seem to be on the low end.

The discussion of building one's own box has been very informative. If I had more room to work I would have considered doing it. For now I have been looking at Mangear (http://www.maingear.com/index.php) to build my next computer.
I would be interested in hearing about other reputable 3rd party box builders. Someone on this board mentioned that newegg will assemble a new machine for $ 50. I plan to check that option out also.
