Good Imp news, power line a go!

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 24, 2011) - Imperial Metals Corporation (TSX:III) welcomes the announcement of the approval of the Northwest Transmission Line project. The 344 kilometre 287 kilovolt power line will provide power to British Columbia's northwest region along the Highway 37 corridor north of Terrace.

"We are extremely pleased at this positive outcome to the environmental assessment process," said Imperial President Brian Kynoch. "The power line represents an outstanding economic opportunity for the northwest region, and for Imperial, provides an energy solution for our Red Chris mine. It is our intent to be the first customer to access the power line on its expected completion in the fourth quarter 2013."

The Company's Red Chris property is located approximately 120 kilometres north of the approved power line terminus at Bob Quinn. The Red Chris project has federal and provincial approvals, and is in the final stage of Mines Act permitting.
