>>Unix? Oh.. you mean Linux.<<
Thanks for the warning, Zax. I don't mind being trolled. I decided long about that other people thoughts about me are none of my business.
If you wish, I will cast aside my usual self control, and, despite the fact that I have the patience of a sedated saint, will hurl invective right back at anyone who throws it at me. Only when I think it will be fun to do so, however.
By the way, when I mention Unix, I mean UNIX, many variants of which still exist in the modern computing world. Sun's Solaris, HP's HPUX, and IBM's AIX are just a few examples of UNIX operating systems that are currently being sold and supported. Apple's own OS X is a variant of BSD Unix.
People who have worked with UNIX over the years really like having an operating system that gives them access to a terminal window and to all of the really great and powerful UNIX commands.
Linux is like UNIX, and uses a lot of the same commands, but it isn't a form of UNIX. |
