>>Its called VMware and cygwin. Get a farking clue, fanboy.<<

It's a fargin' clue, you fargin' bastage.

And the post I was referring to had i-node (or some similar nitwit) talking about how having to add layers of software, like vmware, to do certain things was a Bad Thing form an IT support perspective.

Well, maybe for someone whose entire IT life begins and ends with Windows.

I was just pointing out that the Mac can get me to a UNIX command line without having to add any layers. If you're going to but into the conversation, do at least try to keep up.

Meanwhile, you still can't run OS X apps on Windows, can you?

Seriously. And you act like you're the one who is so clued in.

And PS: the Registry is a horrible hive of outmoded technology, prone to growing to enormous size as it collects obsolete and conflicting entries. It was a bad idea in the first place, and it hasn't gotten better with age. I say this as a guy who knows his way around regedit as well as you do, I'm sure. The first version of Windows I worked on was 2. Then 286.
