I cannot recall but there was a "unmovable" partition on the Vista - near the bottom of the drive (per defrag) - and because of that, I couldn't get say 100GB or even maybe 60GB "free" to create the other drive. I finally did it with Perfect Disk as Window's defrag wouldn't do it.

Been a while but as I said it was working then disappeared and no matter how many Googles it never resolved. Got to the point where I questioned what I was doing - "yeah Blake, there are 10,000 other things that are far more important at the moment." Still not working, still 10,000 things, and life moves on.

Cheeks raised the right question when I was thinking of 2nd drive "can you install another in the Dell?" Light bulb went off and I determined - NO YOU CANNOT. LOL!

If I had Linux on my desktop in my office, then I could see a point having it working on the notebook - but to have it on the notebook alone which I use sparingly, the value is lost.

Will see next time and will follow your advice - thanks Steve.
