Yes, I didn't get the impression you were picking on my phraseology, I only had the impression you were carrying on the conversation.
I suppose a lot of jokes could be made about why the devil picked on Eve instead of Adam, or why she didn't seem to understand. But they would just serve to inflate male egos with the wrong substance.
Eve was deceived, and Adam sinned knowingly, that we know.
"For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." 1Tim2:13-14
My speculation has been, not why Eve was deceived, but why Adam knowingly sinned. Out of love for Eve.... but that would justify it, somehow. There is just no reason that holds water for disobeying God.
