There was a good article yesterday which I now, unfortunately, cannot find. But it talked about why NFLX will succeed at streaming while AMZN won't.

The bottom line is that NFLX MUST succeed at it because it is the core business. For AMZN, it is essentially an afterthought.

It is very difficult to compete against a company in a space where it is all they do. (Microsoft Zune vs. iPod).
