Now I feel bad for dragging you over here. It's really dead in this place.

You really can get great sound from your computer, but if your original source is a CD, you will only get a marginal improvement, by eliminating the CD mechanism as a source of data error during playback.

I'd love to listen to the Ayre QB-9, but haven't had the opportunity.

Have you listened much to SACD or high-resolution DVD-Audio?

What kind of speakers do you have?
