Apple Stealing Android Style Lockscreen Gestures [Photos]

Apple is apparently working on a gesture-based lockscreen for iOS devices like the iPhone, as the leaked screenshots uncovered by 9to5Mac prove.

Apple working on multi-touch pattern unlock gestures like Google's Android?
The screenshots show what appears to be a lockscreen pattern unlock similar to those found on Google Android devices. However the Apple iOS version shows a timer on the right hand corner, uses different visual effects and requires the user to click 'Done' at the end instead of automatically unlocking after the gesture is over like in the case of Androids.

There is no word on whether this will make its way to Apple touchscreen equipped products like the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and nano, but it will be interesting to see if the Cupertino-based company will be violating any Google Android patents with this.

However as far as we know, Apple has a patent on multi-touch, and the swipe gesture used to unlock the current iOS devices is considered a multi-touch gesture just like a pattern unlock.

More on this as it develops.
