Try as I might, I simply can not understand why so many people depend on unions to work. Their dues are high, and their value is miniscule. I respect the local shoe shine guy in the Department stores....and truly hope they are making a good living from their own labor. The unions offer next to nothing as far as a pension is concerned....and yet they collect massive money from the workers.

The unions have it set up that all government workers must pay their dues whether they join or not; the dues are automatically collected by the state. That's what the Wisconsin fight is really about, union revenues. Walker's bill would make the unions collect their own dues on a voluntary basis.
