Either you misunderstand me, or I'm not clear on your response, so let me say this. I do not believe that any president is upholding his constitutionally prescribed duties when he can chose which laws he will enforce and which ones he will not. That such has happened in the past does not excuse it, and something should be done to ensure that no president can do this in the future.

What has happened in the past under other presidents can not be undone, especially if you consider the fact that what one president does in regards to his/her personal objections to enforcing the law is highly unlikely to be binding upon a subsequent president.

And, if this continues to be allowed, why should it remain limited (as it seems to have been) to new legislation? Why not any legislation? How dangerous is that?
