Basically I agree with you. I just think that the idea that they are going to get a free pass from their successor is what enables presidents to pick and choose which laws to enforce. It is a mixed message to say we should have the current president enforce all laws while at the same time saying that past presidents should be exempt from consequences of not enforcing all laws. I've never liked double standards.
