That size impairs leisure content viewing and productivity applications.

I won't speak to productivity needs, as I am not often productive :), but for leisure consumption, the difference is holding the thing one handed vs 2 handed, where the issue is not just the weight, it's the center of gravity. I like the kindle because i forget it's there (it's like a paperback book).

But to each his own. The Kindle obviously fills a niche, as does the iPad.
