Joseffy, how soon we forget. Let me remind you that the Left was all over getting the U.S. to bomb Serbia, a longtime friend of the US, over an alleged genocide in Kosovo that never happened. Never mind that Kosovo was a province of Serbia, when there was enough tolerance of ethnic Albania Muslims that, via plural marriage and tendency for larger families, they eventually outpopulated the ethnic Serbs.
As a consequence of our actions, Kosovo, now Kosova, is an independent state wherein George Soros has earned a huge interest in one of Europe's largest mining operations (after the Serbs departed). And there is more genocide against Serbs, and destruction of their ancient cultural landmarks now than there ever was against ethnic Albanians, but this news is suppressed.
Now, here was a U.S. military operation loved by "Leftist peace activists in the U.S. and Europe". Also, are these not the same people who have been pushing for U.S. military involvement in rescuing starving North African refugees who are killing each other over religion? Have they not complained that we go to war over oil, but not to save starving people (from their own destructive prejudice)?
Yes, the Left "abhors the military" (re. Bill Clinton), until it can serve a Liberal, existentialist, dream world cause, however misguided or fraudulent. |
