Drill Mobilized to Hungry Hill

CALGARY, Nov. 13 /CNW/ - David Graham, President is pleased to announce that a drill is being mobilized to its Hungry Hill, Central Newfoundland base metal project. Celtic is operating the Hungry Hill project with Joint Venture partner Jilbey Exploration Ltd. (JLB.MSE)

Drilling on phase one and two during 1996 and 1997 at Hungry Hill, produced strongly anomalous base metal values within a thick package of altered volcanic rocks. Highlights of previous work include 4.84 metres of 1.59% Copper and 15.30 metres of 0.90% Zinc and 0.40% Copper.

The drilling at Hungry Hill will test the extension of the altered volcanics, approximately 75 metres down dip of hole 414 where a massive chalcopyrite-pyrite interval grading 6.40% copper ore over 0.55 metres was encountered. Northeast of hole No. 14, drilling will test a strong geophysical conductor. Basal till sampling over the conductor returned copper values as high as 745 parts per million.

At Celtic's Pipestone Pond project, the first phase drill program has been completed. Six holes have been drilled, sampled, and cores shipped to the lab for analysis. Assay results from this drilling program will be released when all analysis are completed.
