Well I also have been waiting and reading. Will buy an IPAD2 when out at end of month but since everyone in family wants a tablet, will probably get a second tablet (android??) also.
But it not about the hardware. Read this excellent analysis.

just got an iphone4 after months of comparing and reading, as opposed to an android and am very happy, its all got to do with linking properly with outlook.
