I almost want to go whaaaa whaaaaa! It's nice for a president to have that on his record. It shows Bush really, really, really tried, but as your piece notes.......his efforts failed, and failed is failed. That is what I remember about it. He didn't take his case to the American people. Maybe if he had done a better job of outlining the emergency, and was more committed, something would have been possible. He and the republicans in congress weren't capable. For them, it was go along to get along. I voted for Bush twice, but Murray is right, only because he was the lesser horror of two abysmal choices. I now think it wouldn't have mattered who we elected. We'd probably be in the same fix we are now because it was democrat policies all along and no president was going to change that. Did you watch the videos I posted? They tell the tale.
