I have Acronis True Image 2010 and Acronis Disk Director version 11 which is their partition tool on a Vista system and have been very happy with them. The free version of True Image will only work on your system if you have a seagate or maxtor drive installed and it has limited features even it you do, but will work on other drives such as western digital if you have met the requirement of having a seagate or maxtor drive in the system.

Acronis Disk Director is mostly a partition tool and I just used it for setting up my system. Acronis True Image I use more and it has saved me. I have 2 identical internal hard drives and after installing literally about 50 programs and my system was very clean without junk files I cloned it to my second hard drive. Several months ago I got a bad virus. I just opened up the computer case switched the hard drive cables and booted up the other drive. Then I just cloned my good drive back over to the corrupted one and I had two good drives again.

Also I should mention I use external hard drives for office files, videos, and music so if I do a swap, none of that is affected.
