Strange partial fill on DEJ.TO on Friday. I bought the break out on volume for a quick 3 day trade. Lots of volatility in the resources stocks.

Do you hold you dividend paying stocks in "street name" in your trading accounts. I could never figure out whether holding the stock only for the ex-dividend date still means the dividend is paid to you or whether you need to be holding the security the day the dividend is paid if the security is held in "street name". If the security is actually in your name it is straight forward, but the "street name" on most accounts is not clear to me. All these year I have been a buy and holder of dividend stocks as opposed to a trader. I have has FTS for example for close to 20 years. I bought in the early 90's when the yields based on cost base with in the high single digits.

I know that you trade them monthly to capture the dividend and then put the other money into short term trades.
