Unless you ask your broker, whether full service or discount and pay a fee ($50 or $150 for rushed delivery at TD Waterhouse)to get actual share certificates, it is always in street name..

That is why if you ever show up at an AGM of a company where you hold shares, may be even for years and decade, your name will never be on share holder list..
