Israelis, fearful because of the Holocaust, will (you think) never see evil done to protect Jews. Their fear, due to past atrocities, leads them to certain irrational conclusions today (and equally irrational actions, flowing from those false conclusions.)
You, a fearful Chinese, remembering the barbarian invasions of 1839-1945, cannot see any evil done in the name of Chinese nationalism. And you Appeal to that fear, every time I point out examples.
If Tibet "belongs" to China, then, using the same reasoning, so does Taiwan, Mongolia, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, and parts of Siberia and Kazakhstan. The 21st Century will be as bloody as the 20th, if China tries to take what "belongs" to them.
Almost all conclusions made in fear, or actions done because of fear, are self-destructive. |
