The problem with the teaching profession, however, is that a lot of teachers experience burnout. They're expected to do a lot more than just teach. They're expected to babysit and accommodate to the most disruptive and slowest learners in the class.

Which makes their jobs more complex and stressful than that of a college professor...

And neither side is addressing this issue. Not union-loving Democrats and not budget-cutting Republicans.

This is not a political issue in my view...this is a social and local issue...one in which parents, community and local administration play a lead role. To expect "either side" to address this is an exercise in futility.
