Now lets ask what Democrats did for civil rights from 1800 to 1970.

There's so much there. Roger Taney's Dred Scott decision, secessionism (an idea Democrats on SI are still enthusiastic about), the Ku Klux Klan, Woodrow Wilson establishing segregation in government offices and the military, FDR's administration inventing redlining to prevent blacks from participating in federal housing loan programs, Senator JFK voting against a civil rights act, Sumter County school board member Jimmy Carter working to prevent the construction of a black school to close to a white one - those are just a few of many highlights.
