Jess, I did not see your original post on Korea, but the thread should be aware of the fact that 7 out of the 30 largest Korean conglomerates are in Ch11 or worse with a possible right off to the banks of some $28 Billion. Furthermore, of the $200 Billions owed to banks in korea, about 20% are currently classified as "non performing". The troubles in Korea are more than skin deep. They will not be able to expand their fab as rapidly as they expected and this is one of the reasons the current malaise is so sharp in this sector.

I think that once the big semi caps (like AMAT and KLAC) come out with BTB below 1 for a month or two, the market will finally bottom. As I have posted on another thread, I do not expect an end to this chinese torture for few more months and actually, I think that February may be a "murder" months with blood in the semis flowing in the street.
