Are you saying that any individual who can afford seven lawyers (in New York) must have accumulated the money too pay them in an untoward manner?

It's probably not a bad supposition, unless he inherited the money from someone who did it.

The jury will probably wonder that same thing.

On the other hand, Cioffi and Quattrone probably had similar numbers of lawyers and they had the jury eating out of their hands. Not so for Skilling. So who knows.
